What does my beach cruiser rental come with?

Every bicycle rental automatically comes with a lock. You can add accessories such as helmets, wire baskets, lights, cell phone mounts and baby seats at check out.

Do I have to be present for the delivery and pick-up of the bicycle?

No you don’t! Local Spokes will leave your bicycle at your desired location and send you a text with the lock combination. We will automatically pick up your bikes at the same location on the agreed upon day.

What must we do before bicycle pick-up?

Please make sure your bicycle(s) are locked and in the same place that we originally dropped them off. Bicycles should be free of as much sand as possible- we do not recommend riding the bicycles in salt water, as this can damage the bicycle. Extra fees may apply if bicycles are damaged or destroyed.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

NYS law requires that all children under the age of 14 wear an approved bicycle helmet. We recommend all riders wear helmets. Helmets are provided at no additional charge for youth cruisers (24 inch). Helmets are available at checkout for all adult cruisers (26 inch)

Do I have to lock-up my bicycle?

Yes! Please keep your bicycle(s) locked at all times when not in use. There is a $300.00 loss fee.

Can I ride my bicycle on the beach?

The soft beach sand along the south shore of Long Island may not be the best for bicycle riding. We suggest sticking to paved roads.

What if I encounter problems with my bicycle?

Do not hesitate to reach out to Local Spokes for any issues. We will replace it as soon as we can.
